REGARDING the story Osama officer loses Afghan job over 9/11 fancy dress incident, Echo, September 15, I have a son and relatives who have served in the forces and I am gobsmacked at the way Chief Superintendent Colin Terry has been treated for a harmless bit of foolery.

Please don't tell me that some of the serving members of our forces have not taken the mickey out of Osama bin Laden when they have been able to get a bit of rest and recuperation.

I know several ex-servicemen who take the mickey out of Hitler. What's the difference?

“The worrying thing about this whole episode is how our police are more interested in being 'the thought police' than old fashioned coppers concerned with real villains.
What will they try and stop us doing next?
Colin Terry is not the only one of their own whom they are treating abominally!”
