Overnight road closures on A30 and M5 Junction 29 planned for next week

There will be further disruption to motorists next week as work continues on the M5 Junction 29 improvement scheme.

A section of the A30 and a number of slip roads will be closed during the night from Monday, October 1, to Friday, October 5.

The westbound carriageway of the A30 will be closed between Daisymount and Moor Lane from 8pm until 6am each day.

The A30 Daisymount Junction westbound on slip, Airport Junction westbound on slip and Blackhorse westbound on slip will also be closed.

The Junction 29 northbound off slip, southbound off slip and southbound on slip will also be closed.

Devon County Council, who is in charge of the improvement scheme, said the closures will enable contractor South West Highways Ltd to carry out resurfacing and other work at the junction.

A number of diversions will be in place throughout the road closures period.

The diversion for A30 traffic will be from Daisymount Junction via B3180, Half Way Inn, A3052, A376, Sandygate roundabout, Moto Roundabout, Moor Lane to Moor Lane Roundabout.

Traffic wishing to go west on the Airport or Blackhorse slip roads will be diverted to Daisymount to follow the diversion towards Moor Lane Roundabout.

For M5 northbound traffic wishing to take the Junction 29 off-slip for the A30, there will be advisory signage prior to Junction 30 to exit at Junction 30 and follow the west diversion from Sandygate Roundabout, Moto Roundabout, Moor Lane to Moor Lane Roundabout.

M5 northbound traffic which misses the advisory signage prior to Junction 30, will have to continue to Junction 28 and return southbound to Junction 30, take the southbound off-slip and follow the diversion from Sandygate Roundabout, Moto Roundabout, Moor Lane, to Moor Lane Roundabout.

M5 southbound traffic will follow the diversion to Junction 30, Sandygate Roundabout, Moto Roundabout, Moor Lane to Moor Lane Roundabout.
