Parking tickets: More than £550,000 collected by Exeter Council in 2012
More than £550,000 was collected in parking tickets by the Council in Exeter last year.
A freedom of information request to Exeter City Council has revealed that 18,826 on street penalty charge notices were issued by the Council in 2012, 1,117 more than 2011.

In total £595,003.68 was collected in on and off-street parking fines, with the earnings going to Devon County Council net of the costs incurred by Exeter City Council in running the service.
Since Exeter City Council took responsibility for Civil Parking Enforcement on 5 May 2008 they have issued 94,670 PCNs, with the figure at its highest in 2009 when they issued 22,244.

“How many of those tickets were served without a contravention occuring.
I know of many thousands and counting.
Pay back time will not be to far into the future.”
