Parky aids dignity bid
TELEVISION presenter Sir Michael Parkinson launched the Dignity in Care Campaign today to promote better standards for carers and the cared-for.
The former chat show host and National Dignity Ambassador was joined by Care Services Minister Phil Hope for the event in Leeds.
The campaign aims to ensure all people using care and health services are treated with respect.
They will also encourage people to sign up as Dignity Champions, to help inspire and equip people to drive up care standards across the country.
Sir Michael was named as the Government's new "dignity ambassador" last year, with a mission to raise awareness of the importance of compassion in care services.
