Police appeal after New Year's Day assault in Exmouth
A MAN who forced his way into an Exmouth town centre flat and assaulted the occupant on New Year's Day, is being sought by police.
The man, who is described as being in his 40s, and his friend who is thought to be in his 50s, were walking past the bike shop on the Strand at about 8.25pm when something fell and landed near them from a flat above.

The men then entered the communal area of the flats by pretending to be from a gas company or pizza delivery men, and then forced their way into the flat.
The man in his 40s assaulted one of the men inside but after getting hit himself, left with a split eyebrow. The other man was not involved in the altercation.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may know the man or can give them more information to contact them.
He was bald, was wearing dark denim jeans, tanned Timberland style boots and a black puffer jacket.
