"Far from bemoaning the current sea changes in the profession, she has been at the forefront of keeping the firm modernised.

"She was an active supporter of the firm's transition to the QualitySolicitors branding and pushed forward our joining the Law Society's Quality Conveyancing Scheme."

He added: "She was well known to both the city's business community and the many private clients she has looked after, and who have always very much regarded her as 'our solicitor'.

"The result of that kind of commitment is that she retires from a robust and well respected law firm that has its face firmly looking to the future.

"I and my partners wish her well for the future and thank her for the past."
