Predictable playlist makes me lose heart
WHILE I welcome the recent arrival of Heart FM to the Exeter airwaves, I am disappointed by the quality and predictability of music played on the station after 7pm each evening.
In the great tradition of radios in the workplace ours is battered and, unfortunately, only gets one station.
So I now find myself able to predict to the minute when Heart FM will play I'm Every Woman, by Chaka Khan, or dredge up Don't Leave Me This Way, by Thelma Houston.
If I hear Ain't No Stopping Us Now, by Mcfadden & Whitehead, once more this week I'm going to Freak le Freak and 'Dance Dance Dance' (Yowsah Yowsah Yowsah) off to get a new radio and tune into something less tiresome.

“Couldn't agree more. It's the same songs played over and over again.”

“Sadly this is what you get from nearly all commercial radio stations these days. Their playlists are centrally controlled so you'll get EXACTLY the same number of songs per hour, and usually the same songs too!
I've been listening to Exeter FM since it started & while the presenters are OK (not the best but I have heard a lot worse), the variety of their music is second to none. Give them a try - you might just like it!”

“You need to get a new radio & switch to Exeter FM. (107.3) They play a wide variety of music, & I've lost count of the times I've said to myself "I haven't heard this song for ages, what a classic!" The presenters are great too. Give it a try. All my friends have switched.”

“I completely agree, although its not just after 7pm that its predictable. They play the same songs two to three times during my 8 hour shift at work and songs I used to like, I now can't bear because they have been so overplayed. I really think its time to change the playlist.”
