THE grand unveiling of a mural at a Devon school will take place later this month.

Honiton Decorative and Fine Arts Society and West Hill Primary School have been working together on creating a large mural to brighten up a blank wall at the entrance to the school.

The society has funded the project to decorate the 1.5m high and 6m long wall as part of its Young Arts scheme.

All 209 children in the school have designed and painted a 15cm square tile to go into the mural, ranging in subject matter from mini beasts, the school environment and curriculum.

The mural will be unveiled on Monday, March 29, at 2.15pm.

The work for this project has been led by Sue Bedford, arts co-ordinator and teacher of West Hill Primary School, and Heather Penwarden, Young Arts representative of Honiton Decorative and Fine Arts Society.
