Exeter Express and Echo

WHEN Lucy Nicholson and Ashley Knight were named as winners of the prestigious Face of Exeter's Princesshay last year, they did not think things could get much better.

But they did for the delighted duo when they got to enjoy one of their prizes.

Voted for by Express & Echo readers, 16-year-old beauty student Lucy Nicholson from Cullompton and 19-year-old photography student Ashley Knight "strutted their stuff" to victory in a fabulous competition final catwalk show back in November 2012 at The Thistle Rougemont Hotel, cheered on by friends, family, VIP guests and judges.

And one of their prizes was £500 each to spend in Princesshay's fashion stores, accompanied by Chantelle Znideric, the award-winning personal stylist and founder of highly acclaimed TopStylista Image Consultancy. Their shopping spree was followed by a photo shoot with local professional fashion photographer Andy Green, including full hair and makeup restyling by the team from SAKS hair salon and Debenhams in Princesshay.

Lucy said it was a fantastic experience. "I absolutely loved spending the prize money accompanied by my very own personal shopper. The whole experience since winning has been great and it has given me the extra confidence to pursue a career in modelling.

"The photographer gave me tips throughout the shoot and I am so pleased with the pictures that have been produced. I love being the Face of Exeter's Princesshay!"

Ashley added: "I have enjoyed every minute of the Face of Princesshay competition and have learnt something new at every stage.

"My style is already quite individual, but the experience of working with the stylist has allowed me to create a capsule collection covering three different looks. I'm studying photography so working with the professional fashion photographer was a great learning experience and I have taken away a lot from the whole professional team involved."
