MORE than 1,000 businesses have used an online commercial property register in the last year to search for premises in Devon

Due to its popularity with firms wishing to move to the area and local firms looking to expand, the Exeter and Heart of Devon Commercial Property Register has recently undergone a revamp.

The website www.exeter.gov. uk/property now makes it even easier to find suitable commercial premises. Some 8,000 businesses have used the register since it was set up by Exeter City Council in 2001. It doesn't just cover the city, it covers areas of Mid Devon.

Head of economy and tourism, Richard Ball said: "Most people are looking for offices, industrial units, hotels, pubs, restaurants, and development land in Exeter or in East Devon, Mid Devon and Teignbridge. We've incorporated their suggestions into the site's new design."

One of the site's new features is a much improved search facility which includes the ability to display search results on a map.
