Protesters call for wool industry boycott
ANIMAL rights protesters staged a demonstration in Exeter city centre to show the alleged suffering of animals within the wool industry.
Members of Exeter Friends for Animals vegetarian campaigning organisation, Viva! played out a cameo showing a group of 'sheep' revolting against 'Bo Beep' over their stolen wool — and called for a consumer boycott of the industry.

Sharon Howe, from Exeter Friends for Animals, said: "It's great that more and more people are expressing their opposition to factory farming by giving up meat and going veggie, but many don't realise the animal suffering that goes into the clothes and accessories we wear.
"We're keen to get this message across to the public so they will join us in boycotting wool."

“GOOD LORD. I'm a vegetarian, and am pro ethical farming, so don't think I'm some hideous animal abuser.. But shearing sheep? If they weren't shorn, come summer they'd suffer from heat stroke and they would be eaten alive by flies. Sometimes I wonder whether these people know the first thing about animals.”
