Such has been pupils' enthusiasm since the Green team was formed, they already have four leaves.
John Jenner, deputy head, said: "The school site shows the care taken by my father, John Jenner senior, who has tended the grounds for many years.
"He welcomes the additional composting, planting and growing support taking place now that the new term is under way."
There were plenty of suggestions from Green team members about the differences they could make.
Charlotte Mann, who is 12, said: "It is great to get people involved."
Regarding the problems of global warming, 13-year-old Sian Harris said: "The Green team will help the school understand how serious these problems are."
Troy Wilkinson, 14, said: "The Green team could certainly help improve the environment."
Lewis Chambers, also 14, added "It could also help to give us ideas about how to make the world better by keeping the rubbish down by recycling more."
Twelve-year-old Ellie Govier said: "Getting involved in all the activities would definitely help the environment and also give us wider interests."
Amber Wilkinson, 14, considered "We could eat what we produce and this would save us buying from supermarkets. It will taste better too."
With so many suggestions, the next few activities were quickly selected and planned and include having two new compost bins set up, having a rota of fruit and vegetable collections throughout the school, some new growing beds and some late bulbs to be planted.
Slightly longer term plans include a green house constructed from clear plastic drinks bottles and sculptures from recycled objects.
The school's Green team has its own website and you can check it out at: www. MagdalenCourtSchool.co.uk /GreenTeam
