Queen met by cheering crowds on Exeter visit
CHEERING crowds greeted the Queen and Prince Phillip as they made their first visit to the city in eight years.
The Royal couple arrived in Exeter by royal train and Her Majesty acknowledged the Exeter City Cap and Sword of Maintenance, which was given to the city 500 years ago.

They then visited the headquarters of the St Loyes Foundation, a charity that offers training and employment opportunities for disabled people.
After St Loye's the Royal couple drove to Wyvern Barracks in Topsham Road for the South West launch of the Cadet 150 celebrations to mark 150 years of the cadet movement.
The Queen is also patron of Cadet 150, a programme of over 150 events taking place nationwide throughout 2010. Army, Sea and Air Cadets treat their royal visitor to displays before a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the occasion.

“Prince Phillip - Gaffs again. This shows the royal family are shut away and don't understand the way regualar people live. Well certainly it shows her husband is a plonker anyway.
Prince Phillip to a cadet:
" So what do you do"
Cadet: " I work in a club"
Prince Philip: " A strip Club?"
Realising he had causes offence he walks sheepishly away saying "Its too cold for that".
I got that off radio 4 this morning.
I love the Royal Family.

“Why do we feel the need to celebrate an elderly woman who has enjoyed a life of luxury based purely on the fact that her great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great Grandfather was someone important based on their parents. We have absolutely no need for a Royal family and monarchy in this day and age.
We need to become a Republic”
