Reception at No 10
SCILLY'S Council chief executive Philip Hygate was last week invited to attend a Prime Ministerial reception at No 10 Downing Street with other local authority officers.
It was recognition of the work being done by various councils to help troubled families. Scilly, in common with other local authorities, has been granted £20,000 to advance work in this area while more than £400m is to be spent across the country on a problem which, in the Scillonian context, is thought to be negligible.
