Recruits and restructure sees agency look ahead

Exeter advertising agency Chalk and Ward has announced a restructure and a series of new appointments as it gears up to celebrate its 15th anniversary next year.

The agency, owned by Robert Chalk and Giles Ward, has a client list that includes P&O and Princess Cruises, Age Concern, ABode Hotels, DS Smith Plc, Mole Valley Farmers, Glendinning, Kitsons, Francis Clark, Vospers, Michael Caines and Careers South West.

The business, based at The Quay, is now offering PR services, with Bracken Vernon-Jelier appointed as PR account director and additional appointments likely in the future.

Richard Carus, previously the firm's business development manager becomes head of digital with new appointment Niall McCusker becoming digital manager. Gemma Appleby joins as senior account manager after nine years working with clients including P&G, Electrolux Groupe and Kellogg's.

Account manager, Fleur Kenny, joins the agency with 20 years of marketing and communications experience working with clients including Jaguar UK, the NEC and Smith & Nephew Plc.

Gary Taylor joins as designer and Daisy Raybould has been recruited as an account executive with intern Abby Millar working within the account handling department until spring 2013 when she will return to Bournemouth University.

Mr Chalk said: "Despite tough market conditions, 2012 has been a fantastic period for the business as we continue to break into new areas of work."
