THE South West's 100 most exciting companies have provided inspirational ideas to help local businesses prosper and grow in 2010.

The project is part of a pioneering campaign by the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA) and Business Link, launched this week.

The powerful and motivational ideas are being shared through the 100 South West Business Challengers campaign. The campaign is being supported by Northcliffe Publishing, owner of the Express & Echo.

South West RDA chief executive Jane Henderson said: "The South West has a strong track record of enterprise, creativity and innovation. The 100 companies profiled as part of this campaign are excellent examples of how, by putting these into practice, small businesses can successfully challenge the market leaders."

The campaign gives no-nonsense advice, delivered in easy-to-understand language with tips on essential topics from marketing to innovation, skills and finance.

Business Link's advisers will provide practical advice that owner-managers can use to develop and grow their businesses.

The 100 South West Business Challengers campaign will run for 100 working days until Friday, June 11. Each day a new Challenger profile will appear on the Business Link and Northcliffe South West Business websites.

Adam Chambers, Business Link chief executive, said: "This campaign will inspire and encourage small and growing businesses across all sectors and all the region."
