Residents join care home celebrations
A CITY care home has been celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The Lord Mayor of Exeter Paul Smith, radio personality Sally Sedgman and 1970s film star Francoise Pascal attended a 50th anniversary lunch at the award-winning care home The Lodge, in Spicer Road. The marquee reception marked exactly 50 years since Lady Astor opened The Lodge — one of ten care homes within the award-winning Elizabeth Finn Homes Limited portfolio.

The original house on which The Lodge now stands, was built in the late 1880s for local entrepreneur Arthur Edward Tremlett. General manager Debbie Skinner said: "The loyalty and unstinting commitment of the staff at The Lodge really add to the feeling of us being a real home-from-home for those who choose to come and live with us."
