DRIVERS have continued to battle through blizzard conditions on their way in and out of the city.

But there may finally be some respite on the way.

On Wednesday morning rush-hour traffic struggled through heavy snow on the A38 at Haldon Hill and the A380 at Telegraph Hill just outside Exeter.

But traffic managed to make it through the snow-filled roads following a major operation by Devon County Council staff to keep them open.

Gritters and snow ploughs worked through the night to ensure access in and out of the city.

Forecasters at the Met Office say the worst of the snow may be over for now. Temperatures are set to rise over the weekend.
