A fire broke out in the events barn at Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Park Farm Headquarters in Axminster last night at around 10pm.

The Devon and Somerset fire and rescue service confirmed a call for a fire in a commercial kitchen in Axminster and seven fire appliances attended to tackle the fire.

A Hazardous Materials and Environmental Pollution Officer and Fire Investigation Officer was also mobilised to this incident where two large propane tanks had to be isolated.

Police shut the road.

By about 2am the fire was under control.

No one was hurt in the fire but the barn is severely damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire service and Police.
