Rovers draw at Welton
WILLAND Rovers were well worth a share of the points with a 1-1 draw at second-placed Welton on Tuesday night.
The hosts struck early, taking a fifth-minute lead, but Rovers were level in the 25th minute courtesy of a well worked goal.
Carl Cliff-Brown and Paul Pocock were both involved in the move that ended with David Steele firing home from 12 yards, taking his tally to 10 goals for the season.
Pocock and Sam Croft both had chances to give Willand the lead before the break but neither side could take control in the second half.
Rovers assistant manager Pete Buckingham said: "A draw was probably a fair result, the surface was more akin to a cobbled lane in a Hovis advert and that made passing difficult.
"The positive for us is that the unbeaten run away from home continues and we got another 20 minutes out of Danny Baily."
Rovers are now unbeaten on the road in the league in just over seven months — their last defeat away from Silver Street in the Toolstation League being the opening day defeat at Street.
The home side took an early lead through Jake Crush and then, after keeper John Wannell had saved a Tavistock penalty, Steve Ebdy doubled Witheridge's lead.
With just five minutes of the first half remaining Glynn Hobbs struck for Tavvy, but there was still time for Sam Williams to spurn a great chance to restore the home side's two-goal lead.
Ebdy then missed a similar gilt-edged opportunity shortly after the re-start and the misses proved costly as Hobbs struck twice more to see the visitors to victory.
Rangers took the lead on half-time through Sam Alford but Broadclyst replied after the break to earn a welcome point.
Second-placed Rangers trail leaders Seaton by 11 points.
