THE symptoms of swine flu are broadly the same as ordinary flu, but they might cause more serious complications.

The first thing to do is to check if you are running a fever (a high body temperature of 38C/100.4F or above)

If you also have two or more of the following symptoms, you are likely to have swine flu.

New cough

Headache

Limb or joint pain

Diarrhoea of vomiting

Sore throat

Runny nose
