Santas sign up for charity run
THE Exeter City Santa Dash on Saturday is set to raise more than £8,000 for charity, according to the club's youth commercial manager David Evans.
Around 300 Grecians have already signed up for the run, which will start at Guildhall at 1.15pm and go through Exeter city centre, finishing at St James's Park in time for the afternoon game against Barnet.
A total of 310 people turned out for last season's santa dash, but with each entrant this year pledging to collect at least £10 for charity, the club are expecting to raise more for good causes this time around.
The money raised from the santa dash will be split 50/50 between the Exeter City Football in the Community Charitable Trust and a charity of the runner's choice.

So far some of the charities to benefit from the pledges include the Adam Stansfield Foundation, Devon Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes.
The run is expected to attract a lot of youngsters into St James's Park as well, with over half the contestants being aged under 18.
Axminster Town Youth, Stoke Hill under-10s, Beacon Knights under-11s, Central Youth and Alphington are among the teams that have signed up to take part in the event.
Evans claimed the event is a great day in the Exeter City calendar, saying: "It was a fantastic sight on the High Street last year seeing 300 people all in one pack running towards the stadium.
"They get a little bit separated once they are inside the stadium, but it still creates a special atmosphere to see groups of people dressed in santa suits watching the game."
There is still the chance to sign up for the Exeter City santa dash ahead of Saturday's game.
For £17 per adult and £5 per child, competitors will receive a santa suit and a match ticket for the game against Barnet, which kicks-off at 3pm.
You can book your place up until 5.30pm on Friday by going to the Exeter City club reception at St James's Park.
