Saracens launch drive to boost their membership
EXETER Saracens are holding a registration day at Exhibition Fields on Sunday for most of their age groups.
Teams ranging from under-7s up to under-16s, as well as the Colts in the senior section, are all seeking new players for the forthcoming campaign.
Around 250 players joined the club last year and they are hoping for an increase in numbers this season.
Saracens press officer Paul Ditchburn said: "We are hoping for a few more this season.
"We had a good season last year and we are confident we can do the same this year.
"We are striving to be better and the club is definitely going from strength to strength."
Saracens have boosted their appeal amongst potential new players after their clubhouse was refurbished over the summer.
The first team are looking forward to the new campaign after they sealed promotion to Western Counties thanks to a second place finish in Cornwall & Devon last season.
The side have put down solid foundations for the new campaign with a 29-26 pre-season win over Honiton and a 26-19 win over Exmouth seconds.
The club have also got a flourishing girls' section, while the second XV will compete in the Merit Table this season.
