4pm: Former pupils of Exeter's The Maynard School have been reunited almost 50 years after going their separate ways.

The group of 45 women, all aged around 67, had lunch at the school, in St Leonards, and a guided tour of the campus which has seen many changes since the pupils left.

8AM: Police are investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a deck chair shelter in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to The Esplanade at Sidmouth, close to the Belmont Hotel, shortly before 5am today.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze was believed to have been started deliberately.
