TWO-long standing governors at an Exeter school have been given a rousing send-off.

Staff and friends assembled at Exeter's St Luke's Science and Sports College to say thank you and goodbye to the school's chairman of governors Chris Buswell and her vice chairman, Faith Stafford.

Ms Buswell has been chairman for well over a decade.

She saw the school successfully change from a high school to a respected science and sports college following its rebuild.

She has been a governor since 1984, serving as chairman for 14 years.

Ms Stafford has been a governor for 11 years.

School principal Mark Pinchin paid tribute to their long years of service to the school.

And the headteacher said the two governors would be missed.

He said: "We have to thank both Chris and Faith for their service to the school and the great help they have both been to us.

"We are very grateful for all their support and wish them well in the future."
