EMERGENCY crews were called to the scene of a crash involving a bus load of school pupils and a car near Ottery St Mary.

No one was hurt in the incident on Chineway Hill. Three ambulances and four rapid response cars were sent to the scene as a precaution, as well as fire crews and police.

The main road through the town was closed in both directions after the collision between the coach and a red Ford Escort at around 8.25am on Friday, October 19.

Both the driver and passenger of the Ford Escort sustained cuts to the head and were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
