DAWLISH Town players netted five of the six goals in their Western League Premier Division game against second-from-bottom Calne Town at Sandy Lane on Tuesday night, but had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Dean Stevens fired the Seasiders ahead in the 15th minute but a couple of goals within five minutes saw the Wiltshire side turn the game on its head and take a 2-1 lead into the break. The first was an unfortunate own goal from Paul Kendall, the second a superbly executed lob that gave young Luke Purnell no chance in the Town goal.

The hosts seized control afte rthe break, levelling through Craig Fenner and then going ahead courtesy of Stevens' second of the night.

However, the visitors continued to press and were level when Kendall once again put the ball past his own keeper with what proved to be the final goal of the night.

Cullompton Rangers served up a superb performance to draw 1-1 at Saltash in the Peninsula League Premier Division.

Saltash took a 16th-minute lead and held it until just before the break when teenager Alex Greening equalised.

The second half saw both sides go in search of a winner but both defences stood firm. Andy Carnell was outstanding in the Rangers back four.

Rangers boss Lee Annunziata was unable to travel with his side due to a throat infection but he kept in touch with his side's progress via text messages.

He said: "To go down there midweek and come back with something is no mean feat and it just proves that all this set of players need is greater belief.

"If they can take six points off Saltash this season, they are capable of taking points off plenty of other sides."
