The 15-year-old recently gave a stunning performance in Exmouth when she accompanied the Royal Marines band at the Pavilions in Exmouth.

Poppy's stunningly beautiful voice stole the show, which was organised by the Royal Marines Association (RMA)  to help them raise money for injured and disabled marines.

She began her relationship with the band last November when she released a version of Remember, from the blockbuster movie Troy, with all proceeds going to the RMA, and she performs with them when  ever she can.

Away from her singing commitments Poppy is focused on her academic career. She said: "I have taken music, drama and English, French, religious studies, and then the basic English and maths, I was doing all three sciences but decided to drop physics and chemistry to make room for practice."

Asked where her love of music came from, she said: "When I was about six my parents took me to see cats, and hearing the woman who played grizabella sing, kind of amazed me and I just turned to my dad and said I want to be a singer when I'm older, and from then on I have just sort of been in love with music I guess."

The concert was a sell out and is expected to raise several thousand pounds.
