A GROUP of lawyers from Exeter will swim a mile in open water this Sunday for charity.

Trainee solicitors Natalie Bett, Simon Mansfield and Guy Cartwright, all from Tozers, will be joined by paralegals Michelle Beckett and Rebecca Wyld in their bid to raise money for Hospiscare. More than 320 novice and professional swimmers will take part in the Roadford Lake Swim.

The Exeter lawyers practised their skills this month on top of the water in canoes for their firm's summer outing.

Vernon Clarke, partner and head of private client services at Tozers, comments: "I'm delighted that Tozers is able to support Hospiscare in this event and heartened by the fact that so many of our staff were willing to take part in raising money for Hospiscare."

Hospiscare is a charity supporting thousands of patients and families. More information at www.onemileswim.co.uk
