Solved: Branded sheep in Exeter part of Alton Towers PR stunt
The branded sheep spotted in Exeter that left many flocking to social media using the hashtag #creepysheep was part of a PR stunt by Alton Towers.
The theme park managed to pull the wool over the eyes of many newspapers including the Daily Mail and The Sun.

Sheepish: Alton Towers organised the hoax
Showing shear determination the organisers painted identical faces, featuring black eyes connected to a grinning mouth on sheep across the United Kingdom.
One farmer described the markings as ‘crop circles – but on sheep’ and some asked the question if aliens were behind the markings.
