Southernhay Charity finds new home after fire drama

SurfLifeSavingGB was left without a home after a fire caused structural damage across three floors and it was believed they could be left without a base for months.

"Following various inspections, we have been advised that the whole building will be out of action until at least March 2013. In the meantime we have been working from various locations."
Adding:
"As a charity we keep very little in reserves, instead choosing to reinvest in supporting clubs and developing education programmes, so this has been a challenging time for us. We have been pleased with the support local businesses have provided, and the Exeter Business Network last week very kindly donated £285."
Fire service investigators have ruled the cause of the fire, that gutted an annexe belonging to Pertemps and RGB Recruitment in Southernhay, to be accidental.
