WEST Exe Technology College is now in the third and final week of the stay of a group of Spanish visitors from Vigo, Galicia.

A total of 24 boys and girls have been in West Exe Technology College since Monday, September 17.

ICT projects manager Stephen Berridge said: "They've been loving every minute of their time in Exeter.

"In addition to attending lessons with their English partners, they have undertaken a wide range of other visits and activities. These have included trips to Exmouth, Dartmoor, and into Exeter city centre, and they have had Zumba classes in school and been able to try out being various literary characters in the West Exe library.

"One of the most memorable sessions was when they cooked a traditional British menu with food technology teacher Sarah Quick. In Galicia they don't learn cooking in school, so it was a whole new experience for them especially shepherd's pie, toad in the hole, apple crumble, and plum cobbler."

Mr Berridge added: "Of course, we had an international football tournament, with teams representing both countries. Fortunately, the teenagers proved not quite as good as their national team, with honours finishing even. On Friday, their last full day, the Spanish and English partners will enjoy a day at Crealy, before the visitors leave for home on Saturday."
