TEENAGERS aiming high ahead of their GCSE exams this summer have been recognised at an annual awards ceremony.

Year 11 students at St James School in Exeter received a variety of awards on the night earlier this month.

The young people, their parents and staff received an inspirational talk from guest speaker, author and BBC Spotlight crime reporter Simon Hall.

Headteacher Moira Marder said the students are on track to produce the school's "best ever" GCSE results.
