Steele: No-show Jules forgiven
ASSISTANT manager Hedley Steele says things are forgiven but not forgotten regarding Tiverton Town striker Jules Emati-Emati's no-show against Didcot Town.
A 'breakdown in communication' meant the striker failed to notify the club that he would be unavailable for the 2-2 draw earlier this month.
Emati-Emati came off the bench to score in Saturday's 3-1 win away to Cinderford Town, and Steele confirmed the former Dawlish Town striker had been spoken to by the club.
"I would not say it is forgotten," said former Tivvy player Steele. "Certainly now Jules knows where he stands and what we expect from him, which is the same as any other player.

"(Manager) Mark (Saunders) has spoken to him and reiterated the need to keep in contact with him about his availability, whether it is for a match or a training night.
"We have to know where we stand and there was clearly a breakdown in communication on this occasion, although not on our side.
"Jules has been injured for a few weeks with a back injury and indicated that, after treatment from our physios, he was ready to start on Saturday against Cinderford, but we felt it best not to risk him and started him from the bench.
"Jules, when he comes off the bench, is often twice the player that he is when he starts for us, when he often does not have the same impact.
"He came off the bench on Saturday and was immediately up to pace in the game and their defenders certainly knew they had a game on their hands with him on."
Steele was also quick to praise the strength in depth of the Tiverton Town squad, which had to deal with the absences of Paul Kendall (suspended), Harry Nodwell (unavailable) and the injured Andy Taylor (ankle) in Saturday's win.
Adam Faux returned to the starting line-up in central defence for a rare start, although his afternoon was cut short after receiving a blow to the face which left him nursing a suspected broken nose.
Despite Faux's desire to continue, manager Mark Saunders was left with no choice but to replace him with Josh Searle, with Josh Concanen moving to centre-back.
But it was Russell Jee who really took his opportunity to shine, scoring a fine goal and generally impressing in a central midfield berth.
And Steele admitted the 3-1 victory tasted even sweeter knowing that the Yellows had been stretched to their limits but come out on top.
"We were without Paul Kendall, Andy Taylor and Harry Nodwell from our regular squad, so we turned to those on the bench and that made the win all the more pleasing," explained Steele.
"It is moments like that when you are missing players that you look at the rest of the squad to step up and one of those was Russell Jee.
"We put David Steele on the right and it meant Russell could play in the centre.
"He managed to swivel past a couple of defenders and drill the ball into the corner of the net to put us ahead for a deserved goal.
"He got the first goal for us and put in a real shift for us, so he can be very happy with that."
