EXETER City manager Paul Tisdale admits he is delighted with the striking options at his disposal this season.

The manager has signed Daniel Nardiello and John O'Flynn so far this summer and is also hopeful of adding Jamie Cureton to that list, as Tisdale remains in talks with the veteran over a deal for the coming season.

Bringing the ex-Norwich City man in on a permanent deal would give the Grecians gaffer seven first-team strikers to choose from for the coming campaign.

And Tisdale admits it is an area he has an embarrassment of riches in at the moment.

"We have got a very strong pool of goalscoring strikers, which is going to be a real treat with us to work with," the manager said.

"We have signed Nardiello and John O'Flynn has settled in nicely. Time will tell as he has only been with us a week, but I see no problems. I see John being a very solid individual who will work well with us.

"We are not quite there yet with Jamie. I would like him to sign with us and I think he would like to be with us. We have just got to see what we can do.

"He remains in training with us and I would like to have him but the budget has been spent and I have got to find a way to secure him, so we are in the process of that."

Of the forwards who were at the club last season, Tisdale has been particularly impressed with Richard Logan.

The striker took little time off over the summer, preferring instead to continue training in order to get into the best shape possible for this season.

Tisdale says the forward's hard work has paid off and he expects to see Logan in fine form during the coming season.

The manager said: "You can see by his movement that he has worked very hard for us over the summer — he's not had much of a break and you get what you deserve.

"The last time he looked this fit at the start was the start of the 2007/08 season and he did very well that year. There's no doubt Richard can be one of our lead strikers and that's why we retained his services. He loves playing for Exeter.

"I hear supporters at other clubs questioning the loyalty of their players, but we have got plenty who are very committed to their club and Richard is one of those.

"When he finishes playing he will look upon Exeter as a major part of his career and I think he will have a very good year this year. He will improve on last year, no doubt about it."
