Struggling with cost of winter
People on low incomes in the South West struggle to pay their bills during the winter months, according to a new survey.
Elizabeth Finn Care’s Wrap Up Against Poverty campaign found that, due to their financial situation, two-fifths of people on low incomes in the region have not been able to buy essential new clothing before, and over a quarter are concerned they will not be able to afford clothing for themselves and their families this year.
Over a sixth have had to go without new clothing for themselves so they could afford to provide it for their children.
Over one in four in the South West are concerned that they may need help financially for their situation but are unsure of where to turn.
