ENVIRONMENTAL group Transition Town Exmouth is hosting the screening of a film featuring three of the town's students.

The group will be showing Think Deep, a film focusing on the future of East Devon's fishing heritage, on Monday, March 22.

The film was created as a resource for secondary schools in the region with the aim of "bringing the undersea world of the South West into the classroom".

A collaborative project between Exmouth Community College and Natural England, it was produced by local media company Pangaea TV.

The film features underwater footage shot by Blue Planet cameraman Doug Anderson. It is presented by three Exmouth Community College students.

Exeter Chef Michael Caines, whose restaurant boasts two Michelin stars, also features in the film.

Challenged to find out more about where the fish they eat comes from, the students investigate Exmouth's food scene, visiting suppliers including Exmouth Mussels and fishmonger Dave Kurley.

Exmouth Community College principal Tony Alexander said he was glad to support the project by encouraging student participation in the film and providing locations for filming.

The screening is at the Telfer Suite, Exmouth Community College, Gipsy Lane, on Monday, March 22, at 7.30pm.

Admission is £3, including tea and biscuits.

James Chubb, East Devon District Council's education ranger, will be introducing the film.
