Students raise £81,000 for charity in a year
STUDENTS from Exeter University Students' Guild have raised more than £81,000 for local charities over the past year.
Committee members prepared to present the cheque for the total amount, £81,875.60, at the Exeter Students' Guild community showcase event.

The amount was raised by various volunteering groups including RAG, a range of student charity fundraising, and Community Action, which focuses on community-based projects.
Sophie Brookes, RAG co-ordinator, said: "We were very, very happy. It was the most money RAG had ever raised. It was a fantastic achievement." RAG hosted the Safer Sex Ball, which raises awareness of HIV and AIDS. It raised £20,000 alone for the Eddystone Trust.
