TV star, chef and singer will help switch on Exeter's Christmas lights
Exeter’s Christmas light-switch on will be headlined by a number of household names including a TV presenter, reality-TV star and celebrity chef.
Television and radio presenter, Toby Anstis, will be presenting the event on Thursday, November 22, and there will be performances by the Military Wives Choir and Adam Isaac, who rose to fame in the popular TV show, The Voice.
Exeter’s own celebrity chef, Michael Caines, will turn the lights on, accompanied by two ladies from the Military Wives Choir who will be escorted by the Lord Mayor Rod Newby and Santa Claus who will be making a special appearance.
The evening’s activities will kick off at 4.30pm and will include performances from the Exeter University Jazz Orchestra, Exeter University Soul Inspirational Choir, local schools and excerpts from City Pantomimes. There will also be performances on top of a vintage bus supplied by Arrowscore. The lights will be switched on at 6.30pm.
Wayne Pearce, Centre Director of Princesshay, said: “We are once again delighted to host the annual light switch on event for Exeter’s city centre and are really excited about the line up of talented local performers we have involved this year. There will be some new lighting features to enjoy also and I am sure it will be a wonderful evening.”
