Taxi drivers celebrated in drama
TAXI drivers will be celebrated in a performance and exhibition by city drama students.
Third-year students at the University of Exeter will perform an Ode to the Cabby on the ground floor of the Guildhall Shopping Centre, opposite Hawkins Bazaar. They interviewed taxi drivers and taxi users and will dramatise adaptations of their stories.

TALE OF THE ROAD: Exeter University students are to put on an exhibition and performance dedicated to the city's taxi drivers at the Guildhall Shopping Centre
The students will also perform a piece about the environment and eco taxis, and clips from television programmes and films about cabbies, including Taxi Driver.
There will also be an exhibition including facts and figures, responses from the public to a survey about cabbies and free food and drink for taxi drivers.
Student Lucy Golding said: "Our task was to choose a specific audience and a location other than a drama space. We chose cab drivers because we thought they might have interesting stories."
The exhibition will be open from noon on Monday, March 29, and the performance will take place between 3pm and 4pm.
