MATCH secretary Gary Thornton (Team ALS) came out on top against 19 other anglers in the match at Tiverton Canal.

Fishing breadpunch he caught one hybrid, two skimmers and 20 roach for 1k 980g.

Second was Paul Marks with 48 roach for 1k 820g. Third was Ken Penberthy with a skimmer and a few roach for 1k 300g.

Tickets for Exeter's open on December 2 at Kia Ora are now available from Exeter Angling Center, while tickets are still available from Exe Valley Angling for the Tiverton match on the Canal on November 25.

Newton Abbot's match will be fished on December 9 with tickets available from Tackle Trader.

Creedy Lakes

The heaviest catch out for the week was recorded by local angler Pete Davey with a common scaling 25lbs 1oz using an 18mm golden brown pop up boillie over a bed of bait.

Crediton's Mike Izzard had a fine bag of eight fish, all double-figured commons, for the week's largest and heaviest bag. They ranged from 22lbs 4oz to 12lbs 12oz for a combined bag weight of just under 130lbs of fish.

Lapford angler Richard Tierney tempted a grand total of six double-figured common carp.

On the second visit to Creedy, he had five commons topped by a lovely long common carp scaling 21lbs. He also banked one scaling 20lbs, two of 16lbs and one of 10lbs, giving a total bag weight of 83lbs.

Dawlish angler Bernard Courtney fished over the weekend from the right-hand bank and caught two fish. His catches, both common carp, scaled 21lbs 4oz and 6lbs 10oz.
