Tis praise for Rogers
EXETER City manager Paul Tisdale says Martyn Rogers will go down in Tiverton Town folklore for clocking up 1,000 games in charge of the club.
The Grecians boss believes it is only the fact that Rogers has achieved the feat with a non-league club that has prevented the Yellows chief from receiving wider-spread acclaim.
But Tisdale says breaking the landmark figure away from the bright lights of the Football League does not make Rogers' efforts any less impressive.
The St James's Park chief said: "It is a brilliant achievement. It is remarkable really. Martyn has influenced and directed and had a large impact on that club for a long time.
"He has had a lot of success when he has been there and 1,000 games is some figure. If you were at a league club that would be amazing and you would be enrolled into the hall of fame.
"To get to 1,000 games is a terrific achievement and at non-league level that is almost unheard of.
"We are really pleased for him and hope he enjoys the celebrations."
