TIVERTON & Bickleigh couldn't stop Chagford's promotion drive as they fell to a convincing 82-run defeat on Saturday.

Most of Chagford's usual suspects scored runs, with Tony Niven leading the way with a half-century.

Niven's stand of 50 for the sixth wicket with Stuart Lord (32no) topped the score up after Del Owen (34) and Colin Mortmore (42) had made 70 for the fourth.

Jon Hall (3-46) and Jason Parr (4-48) worked hard to contain the Chagford batters.

Tiverton made a promising start — they were 48 without loss — but that early promise evaporated as Chris Rowlands (4-26) got stuck in.

Tim Reed (31), Paul Tidborough (28) and Parr (31) all made contributions, but no one got enough to stop T&B being bowled out for 151 with 14 overs to go.
