Former Torquay United striker Chris Zebroski leaves Cheltenham Town
FORMER Torquay United striker Chris Zebroski has left Cheltenham Town after the club held showdown talks with the striker on Friday over his refusal to turn up to their New Year's Day match at Oxford United.
It is the fourth time this season the 26-year-old has been absent and it appears boss Mark Yates had finally lost patience with the striker, with the club confirming he has left by mutual consent.
Zebroski, who scored 38 goals for the Gulls in 120 appearances between 2007 and 2011, has made 24 appearances for Cheltenham this season scoring six times.
Yates paid an undisclosed fee for his services, handing him a two-year deal. He said the move had "not worked out" and Zebroski is now a free agent, permitting him to join another club during this month's transfer window.

"We're parting on good terms and after a discussion with Chris it was agreed that a move was the best thing for all concerned," Yates said. "I think we all accept that the move didn't work out - sometimes these things happen in football - and we wish him all the best for the future."
