Tread the woodland path to a magic winter wonderland
Rogue Theatre's Winter Wood was one of the most charming and imaginative productions of the Westcountry festive calendar last Christmas.
Now the highly visual theatrical forest adventure is back, spruced up and sparkling for 2012 to enchant the young, the young at heart and all those who still believe in magic.
Taking place amid the breathtaking scenery of Tehidy Woods, at Portreath near Camborne – scene of the Cornish company's terrific King Arthur and the Wild Hunt show in the summer – the show takes advantage of the location and its otherworldly ambience, especially in the twilight and evening hours.
In true, quirky Rogue style, it promises live music, festive stories, winter wonders, free hot chocolate, a warm place to relax, sparkly face painting and the chance to make your own traditional winter decoration to take home.

The theme is about this time of year, but not specifically about Father Christmas or the Nativity – but it will nevertheless have a strong sense of nostalgia and celebration.
Starting with a walk through the woods along a candle-lit trail, faeries and woodland spirits lead the way with stories and songs.
Audiences follow the enchanted path until they reach Old Man Winter's (heated) Travelling Theatre Tent to discover an extravaganza of entertainment and a spectacle of festive marvels.
It's a highly entertaining two-hour journey for children and their brave grown-up companions, and it runs from next weekend right through to Christmas and beyond.
"After having such a magic time in the woods in 2011 we are very excited to be back in the woods this year," says Angelina Boscarelli, director of the project.
"The Winter Wood mixes all of my favourite things about Christmas, walking in the woods, spending time with family, plenty of sparkle and glitter, magic and of course hot chocolate."
The company advise adventurers to bring a torch, a warm coat, wellies, and a sense of adventure. Rogue say the woodland path twists and turns and is a bit bumpy but should be fine for a rugged children's buggy.
This year the Winter Wood is also offering a special gift option. You can buy tickets as a Christmas present or treat for family and friends and they will be delivered with a beautiful card signed by Old Man Winter himself.
The adventure happens twice a day at 4pm and 6.30pm from December 8 to December 30, but not on December 13, 19 or 25 at Tehidy Woods, using the North Cliffs entrance.
Tickets are £7.50 per person, with children aged three years and under (a maximum of two per adult) admitted free of charge. School and group enquiries are welcome and disabled access can be arranged.
