UPDATE: Fire crews tackle blaze in Well Street property, Exeter
At 1.43am this morning, the Fire Service received several calls from members of the public requesting attendance for a property fire in Well Street, Exeter.
Two Fire appliances from Danes Castle and one from Middlemoor attended the incident and on arrival confirmed the property was well alight.
At 02.08am fire crews requested for an additional appliance due to the fire spreading to the first floor and continued to fight the fire with an additional Main Jet.
At 02.26am a fifth fire appliance was mobilised and fire crews confirmed that cylinders were now involved in the fire. Fire crews continue to extinguish the fire and cool the cylinders down.

At 3.42am the incident was scaled down to two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.
At 05.05am a fire investigation started. Three thirteen kilogram butane cylinders were safe and their disposal was being arranged.
At 12.24am the fire was now under control. This was a dwelling measuring eight metres by fifteen metres. Seventy five percent of the property was severely damaged by fire, the remainder of the property was damaged by heat and smoke. Following fire investigation the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
At 8am today, one fire appliance was still in attendance maintaining a watching brief.
