I THANK the people of Exeter for their generosity in raising £70.17 last Saturday in aid of the charity Compassion in World Farming.

All proceeds will go towards CIWF's work to advance the welfare of farm animals worldwide.

At present, among other aims, we are concentrating our efforts on strengthening welfare protection for pigs which are the second most intensively farmed species next to chicken on the planet.
