BRADNINCH bagged a place in the Twenty20 Devon Finals Day at Cornwood CC after a 12-run victory over North Devon at Kensham Park on Thursday.

The hosts had their youngest player to thank for what proved to be a match-winning contribution as Matt Jarrett struck a typically explosive 31.

Dan Hardy also got 31 and Gary Chappell chipped in with 22 to ensure the home side closed on 121, losing their final wicket off the last ball of the innings.

Elliot Acton then claimed three wickets and both Phil Chappell and Ross Acton bagged a brace each as North Devon were bowled out for just 109.

The win means that Bradninch now face successive Sundays at Cornwood CC, as they must first visit the ground for a Devon Premier Cup semi-final on Sunday, August 8, before returning seven days later for the Twenty20 finals day.

They will face either Plymouth; Abbotskerswell or Tavistock; or Sidmouth or Brixham in the last four.

The winning team at the Devon finals day will then move on to The Maer in Exmouth for the regional final, where the draw sees the Devon champions destined to meet the Cornish champions in the first semi-final.

The second semi-final will be between the South Wales and Somerset winners, with the day's ultimate winner advancing to the national competition, which will be covered by Sky television.
