A GROUP of volunteers is researching the history of St Stephen's Church, Exeter, and they are asking for help from Nostalgia readers.

One of the volunteers is Beryl James, who has taken on the period from 1902 to the present.

Said Beryl: " From previously working on the Royal Albert Memorial Museum project, Living Here West of the Exe, I have experience of listening to people's stories and writing them down.

"I would love to find people who would agree to tell me their memories of St Stephen's church, for example a family wedding or similar."

St Stephen's is due to re-open in July for the first time in over a year and the results of the volunteers' research are to be displayed in the church.
