POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three men were assaulted near a nightclub.

One of the trio, a 19-year-old from Newton Abbot, sustained a broken nose in the attack which police say was unprovoked.

The incident happened just after 2am on Saturday, August 28, in the Olympus Business Park, Kingsteignton Road, Newton Abbot, close to the Enigma nightclub.

The 19-year-old and two other men had just come out of the nightclub when they were approached by two other men.

All three victims were punched in the head and two of them were pushed to the ground before sustaining kicks to the head and body.

The 19-year-old had his nose broken and suffered cuts and a lump on his head; the other two were grazed and bruised.

Police have appealed for witnesses and issued descriptions of the attackers.

A spokesman said there would have been a few people around at the time of the incident.

He said someone may have seen the attack and may have information which could help to catch the culprits.

The police spokesman said: "The first suspect is described as being a white man aged approximately 23 years to 25 years and was about 6ft tall.

"He was of slim build with short, dark hair.

"He was wearing a dark top with a Henley logo on it and dark jeans.

"The second suspect is described as being a white man, also aged 23 years to 25 years, also 6ft in height.

"He was of slim build and was wearing a dark-coloured jacket."

He said police wanted to hear from anyone who might have more information about the incident.

"Police would like to hear from anyone who either witnessed this incident or has any information to assist the investigation," said the spokesman.
